At Wonasquam Home Design, we deeply value your home and your family’s unique needs. We promise your final design will feel personal and create peace and comfort in your new home.

A Thoughtful Approach to Your Investment

Your home is your sanctuary, but it's also a financial asset and investment. During our design process, we'll ask the right questions and guide you to establish a plan that blends creativity and comfort with practicality. Whether a minimalist, functional update or a more expansive transformation, we promise to deliver thoughtful designs that align with your vision and future goals

Meet Nicole

Having moved here in 2013, it didn’t take me long to fall in love with the vernacular homes, the people, and the history of Cape Ann. Living and working next to the ocean is a constant reminder of what it must have been like a long time ago and how to honor that in modern-day living.

Having obtained a Master’s degree in Architecture and having worked in residential design and construction for more than 15 years, my career has been focused on the design and construction of contemporary homes that are historically tied to their place. I love reading up on the history of old buildings and then revitalizing them with a sense of new energy and movement. My goal as a designer is not just to make your home look good – but to make it work for you and, most importantly, set you and your family up to thrive in your home.

I enjoy working with homeowners and general contractors because of the elevated and constantly evolving perspective it gives me to design comfortable, budget-conscious, and buildable dream homes. After spending half of my career at a residential design-build firm, I am familiar with the builder’s process and mindset, which is a building block to the teamwork required for a successful result.

about the name

The Meaning Behind "WonasquaM”

Across Cape Ann and New England, many towns, neighborhoods, and streets carry names rooted in the language of the indigenous Abenaki people, each offering a unique reflection of the land, its people, and its historical significance. The name "Wonasquam" is believed to mean “end of the marsh” in the Algonquian language. Geographically, it refers to the Native American Pawtucket village that once encompassed Gloucester, Essex, and Rockport.

We had the pleasure of working with Nicole on a small project for our home. Nicole’s design incorporated our personal style while sustaining a timeless quality that we were not able to find in other architects. Her creativity and attention to detail transformed our vision into a stunning reality. We look forward to working with her again!
